Bomb threat at Kansas City International Airport, passengers told to immediately evacuate

Passengers were asked to evacuate Kansas City International Airport amid reports of an active bomb threat. The reported evacuation began around 11:50am local time on Sunday, according to social media posts on X. Others have reported being moved from Concourse B to Concourse A and being filtered onto tarmac via staircases as “emergency sirens” sound in the background.“We were all told to immediately get to concourse A. K9’s and agents all over the place. No planes on the tarmac,” one passenger wrote online.“The Kansas City Aviation Department is aware of a situation at Kansas City International Airport (MCI),” a spokesperson of the airport said. “As a precaution, the department has evacuated sections of the Airport Terminal.“The FBI is aware of the incident and our personnel are working with city and airport partners to determine the credibility of the threat,” an FBI spokesperson said. Flights to and from the airport have been grounded. Traffic has also been diverted away from the airport.As several videos showed the chaos that started to take over the airport after the reported threat, one showed how travelers were on the tarmac after the terminal was evacuated. Passengers of planes that just landed at the airport after the threat was reported were confined within their planes.
