Man bludgeons relative to death with LPG cylinder in Pune

PUNE: A 31-year-old construction worker was arrested on Tuesday night on the charge of bludgeoning his relative to death with an LPG cylinder on Monday night at a workers’ colony of a construction project in Kudale Vasti.The MIDC Bhosari police identified the deceased as Balaji Khandade (29), hailing from Nanded district. The accused, Pradeep Gundare of Moshi, originally from Latur district, was charged under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).An officer from the Bhosari MIDC police said Gundare and Khandade were distant relatives. They worked at the construction site. Khandade stayed in the workers’ colony at the site.“Khandade and Gundare entered into a dispute over cooking dinner around 11.30pm on Monday. Gundare picked up the cylinder and bludgeoned Khandade,” the officer said.He said the victim suffered severe injuries in the attack. Khandade was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to injuries during treatment.“We arrested the accused, who fled from the spot. Our investigations are on,” he said.
