MYSURU: A 42-year-old woman working as a product promoter at a shopping mall in west Mysuru allegedly died by suicide on Friday, accusing her manager of harassment.Vijayanagar police have booked the manager of a marketing agency on charges of abetment of suicide under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Nageshwari, a resident of Hinkal, left behind a suicide note in which she alleged that her manager, Dolly, who monitored her work from Bengaluru, harassed her by forcing her to admit to a mistake committed by someone else.She also claimed that Dolly continued to torment her by threatening to replace her with another employee and pressured her to resign from her job.Nageshwari, who had been working with the marketing agency for the past three years, further alleged that she was not given a weekly off after Dolly became her manager and was also denied leave.Her husband told police that about a month ago, his wife began complaining about Dolly’s behaviour. He said that while he was away from home, she consumed a poisonous substance. Although she was rushed to a hospital, she succumbed late on Friday.Police said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
