Gunmen attacked Pakistan paramilitary force headquarters in northwestern city of Peshawar on Monday, Reuters reported citing police. At least three people have been killed in the attack.“The FC headquarters is under attack: we are responding and the area is being cordoned off,” Pakistani news outlet Dawn quoted police officer Mian Saeed Ahmad saying.“Several explosions have taken place in the area,” the official said, adding that “the area is being cordoned off.”Soon after the attack, several videos surfaced on social media, claiming that blasts were heard at FC Chowk Main sadar.Earlier this year, at least ten people died and several were injured after a powerful car bomb detonated outside the paramilitary headquarters in Quetta. The incident came amid escalating regional tensions. On September 3, a suicide attack at a political rally in Quetta killed 11 people and injured more than 40, striking a stadium parking area where hundreds of Balochistan National Party supporters had assembled. Pakistani forces have been battling a longstanding insurgency in Balochistan, which has claimed 782 lives in 2024. In March, the Baloch Liberation Army hijacked a train and killed off-duty troops. Since January, over 430 people—mostly security personnel—have been killed in various attacks, including six soldiers in Bannu.
