MahaRERA portal changed: How buyers can check projects and complaints now

Homebuyers in Maharashtra will now have to use a new online platform to access project information and complaint-related services, as the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has shut down its old portal and made MahaCRITI the sole online platform for all MahaRERA services. The authority calls the transition a part of its digital modernisation efforts. It has launched MahaCRITI in phases, with the complaint and agent lifecycle modules becoming operational in August 2024 and the project lifecycle management module in May 2025.Before the MahaRERA portal’s discontinuation in May 2026, it had gradually moved facilities like registration, updates, corrections, extensions, and other regulatory processes to the new system after providing stakeholders, including promoters, developers, and authorised representatives, with time extensions to complete pending work. What does it mean for home buyers? For homebuyers, the change means that project searches, promoter details, regulatory disclosures, and complaint services will now be available only through the new platform. Before investing in a property, buyers can use MahaCRITI to verify whether a project is registered with MahaRERA, check details of the developer, view project updates, and access documents uploaded by promoters. This information can help buyers make informed decisions and assess the status of a project. Those looking to file complaints against developers, promoters, or real estate agents can also do so through the new portal. Existing complainants can use the platform to track the progress of their cases and access related information.MahaRERA has clarified that incomplete applications pending on the old portal have been closed for administrative purposes. However, this does not amount to rejection of those applications, and applicants can submit fresh applications through the MahaCRITI platform as per the applicable rules. With the closure of the old system, MahaCRITI has become the single online gateway for all MahaRERA services, making it the primary platform for homebuyers seeking project information or grievance redressal.
