NEW DELHI: Congress on Friday issued a whip to its MPs, directing them to be present in both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha as the government is set to take up the contentious FCRA Amendment Bill for discussion.Congress has asked its parliamentarians to remain present in their respective Houses on August 10, 11 and 12.“Very important issues will be taken up for discussion in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, i.e. August 10, 11 and 12, 2026,” Congress chief whip in the Rajya Sabha said in the whip.

“All Members of Congress Party in the Rajya Sabha are requested to kindly remain present in the House from 11.00 am onwards till the adjournment of the House on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, i.e. August 10, 11 and 12, 2026, without fail and support the party stand. This may be treated as most important,” the whip, issued by Chief Whip Jairam Ramesh, said.An identical whip was issued to Congress members in the Lok Sabha.Congress has also conveyed to all INDIA bloc allies to ensure that their MPs remain present on the three days, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.The move comes as the government is set to take up the FCRA Amendment Bill and is also considering reintroducing the Constitution Amendment Bill on delimitation.However, while listing the tentative government business for next week, minister of state for parliamentary affairs made no mention of either the FCRA Amendment Bill or the Constitution Amendment Bill on delimitation.
