NEW DELHI: Four minor boys have been arrested for allegedly attacking a catering staff member after he refused to serve them mutton at a wedding feast in Odisha’s Balasore district, police said on Sunday.The incident took place on the night of June 24 in Athantar village under the Remuna police station limits but came to light on Sunday after police detained the four accused, officials said.According to police and local media reports, the victim was working as part of the catering team at a wedding ceremony when a group of four minors, aged between 16 and 17 years, approached the food counter and demanded mutton curry.However, the catering staff member allegedly refused to serve them mutton as he had been instructed not to do so and instead served them chicken curry. This led to an argument between the two sides.A short while later, when the caterer stepped outside the wedding venue, the four minors allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, causing grievous injuries, a police officer said, PTI reported.The injured man was initially taken to Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Remuna and was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition was reported to be critical.Police have registered a case and apprehended the four accused. They have been sent to a juvenile home in Angul for further proceedings. An investigation into the incident is underway.
