PUNE: The investigation into the murder of young Pune realtor Ketan Agrawal has taken a dramatic new turn, with sources claiming that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, had secretly married her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary nearly four months before allegedly killing her fiancé.As per the sources, Siya and Chetan solemnised their marriage, despite Siya’s engagement to Ketan Agrawal having taken place in February. The couple allegedly kept the marriage hidden from both their families while continuing with preparations for the marriage ceremony.The revelation reportedly surfaced during the police’s examination of the accused’s digital footprint, including WhatsApp chats, call records, location data and internet search history spanning the past six to seven months.Police are now trying to trace the couple’s marriage certificate to establish the sequence of events and gather documentary evidence of the alleged secret wedding, a source privy to the investigation claimed.As per the sources, two college friends of Siya Goyal allegedly signed as witnesses to the marriage.
Police technical teams are also trying to recover deleted photographs from a private Instagram account that reportedly showed Goyal and Chaudhary wearing wedding garlands, which investigators believe could further corroborate the claim that the two had secretly married months before Ketan Agrawal’s death.The murder probe had earlier revealed that Keta was allegedly pushed off the historic Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18. Police have arrested Goyal and Chaudhary in the case.Now, police suspect the couple concealed their marriage from their families and later hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Ketan.Police had earlier alleged that the first attempt to kill Agrawal was made on June 14 but failed.
